Student common area work stations at Kell HS, Marietta, GA

The principal at Kell HS in Marietta, GA, wanted to provide common work areas for students in an underutilized space at the school. The idea was to create spaces for students to have to work, with the ability to plug a laptop or phone in for charging. The area already had a few seating areas but they weren't conducive for computer use.

Two sets of counters were installed, each measuring 14 ft. long and about 36" tall, about 'bar height'. Each counter contains two outlet boxes with three electrical outlets and four USB ports. Each was sized to seat six students at a time.

The counters were made from red oak and finished with Rubio Monocoat's Black Precolor and Charcoal Oil Plus 2C finish.
