This project was inspired by the homeowner's desire to break up the massive field of white from his quartz countertops. We found a large slab of live-edge walnut and used a 60"+ piece for the board to sit on the countertop. The slab has beautiful contrast with a streak of sap wood along one edge. Checking on the ends of the slab and natural pittings and voids were filled with black epoxy for a smooth surface and to stabilize the grain of the piece.

The board was finished with Rubio Monocoat's Pure finish, giving the walnut a natural glow.
